⚽️ 2025 GIRLS ORIENTATION GUIDE ⚽️Welcome to Robina City and season 2025 ! We are a very proud female football club with one of the largest female playing contingents on the Gold Coast and in Queensland. In 2024 we had over 250 female players, with 18 all female teams, including 15 Girls teams and 3 Womens teams. We expect to increase these numbers in 2024. In 2024 we had the following all girls teams:• Under 6/7 Girls x 1 (they played ion mixed competition under 6s)• Under 8/9 Girls x 2• Under 10/11 Girls x 4 • Under 12/13 Girls x 3• Under 14/15 Girls x 3 • Under 16/17 Girls x 2 (please note in 2025 this will include under 18s with a recent change by FQ to expand this). In 2025 we have the exciting addition of FQ Academy League Girls for Under 11s, 12s and 13s to provide even higher level opportunities for our girls. See the post this afternoon regarding Phase 2 trials for our 7 advanced teams. There are limited spaces available in some of these teams. We have compiled the below guide to welcome you to our club for the season and to answer frequently asked questions about Girls teams and competition:1. This guide should be read in conjunction with the FAQ post pinned to the top of the club facebook page, and the soon to be posted Training timetable that will also be posted on the club facebook page.2. Girls can play in all female competition or with boys in mixed competition. Competitions are run by Football Queensland. 3. Please register your child as soon as possible after the registration portal opens (watch for updates). Please read the registration guide carefully. Once teams are full we will operate a wait list (details in the registration guide).4. When registering for all girls teams choose the age group you are registering for - a player turning 10 in 2025 is an under 10 but there are combined age groups for girls so choose Under 11 if that is all that is offered). IMPORTANT.5. We have already conducted our selection trials for our FQ Academy League teams (Under 11,12,13), our Pre-Academy teams (Under 11,13), and our highest level Under 15 and 17 teams (Junior League). Keep an eye on our facebook posts for how we will fill the remaining places. We will have community level teams who play in local competition as follows: Under 6/7 (1 team, register in boys/mixed competition please and we will be in touch to confirm you want to play in an all girls teams or with boys), Under 8/9 (2-3 teams), Under 10/11s (2-3 teams plus FQAL), Under 12/13s (2 teams plus FQAL and JL), Under 14/15s (2 teams plus JL), Under 16/18s (1 team plus JL). There may be community levels Division 1 and 2 for 2025 in Under 13s, and 15s.7. We have come and try clinics on 23 November, and 11 and 18 January for new players to club football age 5-11, please arrive at least 10 minutes before to sign in. See the Come and Try post last week for details.8. Under 16/18s (what was under 17s) play matches on Friday nights, all other non-FQAL teams play on Saturdays. The first competition game is scheduled for 7/8 March, and please allow the previous 3 weekends for pre-season matches.9. Registration fees include: 2 training sessions per week for community and 3 for FQ Academy League; all matches; and playing jersey and training jersey to keep. Club shorts and socks together are $35 and we will advise when they are available to purchase from the City FC Shop. Jerseys will be handed to Team Coaches to distribute after teams are formed.10. Saturday mornings are a fantastic atmosphere at our club. Hang around and enjoy the canteen and the camaraderie.11. Although we have 2 full-time TD’s we are largely a volunteer run community club adminstratively and encourage all players and parents to be a part of their club and volunteer during the season. We will need volunteers to run the City FC Shop for example.12. For Girls teams your Under 6/7 Player Coordinator is Wendy Rushton on 0411103328, Under 8-11 Player Coordinator is Kim Ablang on 0487 095 119; and Under 13-17 Player is Coordinator is Peter Morichovitis on 0480221578. In 2025 we are introducing a Girls Community TD Fernanda Menegat to guide and mentor our community coaches under the leadership of our Community TD Josh Black. 🔥 Major Announcement: Tia Venter signs for our FQPL 1 Women’s team 🔥Tia was a priority signing as she played her first ever football at Robina City after attending a Girls Come and Try Clinic in 2018. She moved to NPL Girls at GCU in 2019, and then played with the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) from 2020 to 2022 before returning to GCU in 2023. She returned to Robina City in 2024 at age 17 and quickly became a starting first team player. She made a major impact across the year as we finished in 3rd place. We look forward to seeing Tia improve with further FQPL 1 Women’s experience. Tia is the perfect example of the home grown talent we want to nurture through to seniors now that we can also offer FQ Academy League Girls programs from Under 11s. Playing with creative flair, speed and agility, Tia loves bringing her teammates into the game. In the offseason, she is a keen futsal player and will again be representing Queensland at the Football Australia Futsal Nationals in January. Our Under 11 and 12 FQ Academy League Girls are following a similar program to Tia, training in futsal once a week in 2025. Coach David Park-Ballay: “I'm very excited to see Tia back at Robina. For her first season with the Women's last year, she demonstrated her ability to play across the front line and in the midfield. Tia is the perfect example of our new project at Robina, where young talented players will be given opportunities to play in our first team. We look forward to seeing Tia back on the score sheet in 2025.”Tia: “I'm grateful for the opportunity to play another year at the club that began my love of the game. I'm keen to see what the season will bring for all the girls”.WATCH THIS SPACE as we build toward season 2025. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️PREVIOUSLY POSTED FQPL 1 Womens training is now OPEN training.
